CPACC certifies broad, foundational accessibility knowledge: disability types and the social and medical models of disability, universal design principles, and the major international accessibility laws and standards. It is intentionally non-technical, making it suited to accessibility professionals working in policy, procurement, content, design, or program management, not only developers.
Because it establishes a shared vocabulary and conceptual foundation across disciplines, CPACC is often treated as the natural entry point into IAAP’s certification track before a practitioner pursues a more technical credential like WAS.
