Find A Case Study Like Your Project

Each of these accessibility case studies is a real engagement: a manual audit against WCAG 2.2 Level AA (or WCAG 2.1 where the client required it), screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver, keyboard-only checks and, where we fixed issues, retesting to confirm the fixes. Every project was led by our founder, Mohammad Shadab Saifi (IAAP CPWA, DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester), with 10+ years of accessibility work, and every rated contract scored 5.0 out of 5.

Accessibility Case Studies By Industry

Accessibility work looks different in every industry: a SaaS buyer asks for a VPAT, a finance firm needs every client site held to WCAG 2.2 AA, and a dealership’s chat widget has to work with a screen reader. Here is where each of our case studies fits, with the industry page that explains how we test for your sector.

SaaS And B2B Software

Happeo got a tested, procurement-ready ACR in 7 days, and a three-contract SaaS program covered an audit, code-level fixes and a VPAT in 6 weeks.

SaaS Accessibility

EdTech And Education

Interstride, a platform for international students, ran two full audit rounds six months apart, with a re-test that confirmed fixes and caught regressions before release.

EdTech Accessibility

Finance And Banking

EnhanceAccess hired us six times between December 2025 and April 2026 to audit and fix more than 15 financial-sector and venture capital websites against WCAG 2.2 AA.

Finance Accessibility

Automotive Dealerships

Ken Garff, a US automotive dealership group, had its website chatbot tested with screen readers and the keyboard after a consultation that scoped the work first.

Automotive Accessibility

Agencies And White Label

Anblik, Bay Area Web Solutions and a QA firm delivered our WCAG audits to their own clients under their brand, and A11Y Pros used us for an audit, fix verification and a VPAT.

White Label Accessibility

Ecommerce, Healthcare, Government And Legal

No published case study for your sector yet? We test online stores, patient portals, public-sector sites under ADA Title II and law firm websites with the same method, and the Shopify Accessibility Audit is a fixed $2,000.

What Every Project Had In Common

How We Ran Every Engagement In These Case Studies

The clients, platforms and deadlines differ, but every project above followed the same six steps, built on the W3C’s Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM) and led by our founder, an IAAP CPWA-certified accessibility specialist with 10+ years of accessibility work.

Want a quick first look before you talk to us? AccessibilityScore.in is a free WCAG scan powered by HalfAccessible and axe-core that checks one public page and gives issue-level guidance. Treat it as a starting point, not a verdict: the W3C notes that evaluation tools “can not determine accessibility, they can only assist in doing so”, which is why every case study here relied on a manual audit.

  1. Step 1: Scope Before Any Work Starts

We agree the pages, user flows, standard and a fixed price first. Ken Garff’s chatbot review began with a consultation that scoped the work before any testing was paid for.

  2. Step 2: Automated Scans For The Quick Wins

Tools such as axe, WAVE and ARC Toolkit catch missing alt text, low contrast and unlabelled fields quickly, so manual testing time goes to the issues tools cannot judge.

  3. Step 3: Manual Testing With Screen Readers

Testers work through each flow with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and the keyboard alone. In Happeo’s ACR, every conformance claim was backed by this hands-on testing.

  4. Step 4: Severity-Ranked, Developer-Ready Findings

Each issue is mapped to a WCAG success criterion with a severity rating, the affected pages and fix guidance, the format Interstride’s developers used across both audit rounds.

  5. Step 5: Fixes In Your Code

Where the client wanted it, we fixed the issues at code level ourselves, as in the six-week SaaS audit and VPAT program and the two-phase Siteimprove remediation.

  6. Step 6: Re-Test, Verify And Document

Fixed issues are re-tested before sign-off. For A11Y Pros, independent verification caught partial fixes before a procurement-ready VPAT was written on the ITI template.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do these accessibility case studies show?

Each of our accessibility case studies documents a real client engagement: the brief, the scope we tested, the method (automated scans plus manual testing with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and keyboard only, mapped to WCAG success criteria), the main findings and the outcome. They cover accessibility audits, remediation, VPAT and ACR documentation and white label work for agencies.

How long does an accessibility project take?

It depends on scope. In these case studies, Happeo’s VPAT took one week, a SaaS audit, remediation and VPAT program took six weeks, and a two-phase audit and remediation for an agency client took about eight weeks. If you need a fast first answer, a $500 Quick Audit shows where you stand.

How much does an accessibility audit cost?

Our prices are fixed: a one-hour technical consultation (audit walkthrough, developer Q&A or live issue review) is $100, a Quick Accessibility Audit is $500, and a complete audit is $2,000, including the Shopify Accessibility Audit. Remediation and VPATs are quoted after we see the findings. See accessibility audit pricing for what each package includes.

Do you fix accessibility issues or only report them?

Both. Our accessibility remediation service fixes issues in your code or CMS, and we retest to confirm the fixes, as in the Siteimprove remediation case study. If your team prefers to fix issues in-house, every audit report lists the WCAG criterion, the affected pages and fix guidance for each issue. See a sample audit report.

Can you write a VPAT or ACR for our product?

Yes. We write Accessibility Conformance Reports from manual testing using the ITI VPAT template, as in the Happeo and A11Y Pros case studies. Request a VPAT quote to get started.

Do you work with agencies on client projects?

Yes. Agencies deliver our audits, remediation and VPATs under their own brand; read the white label accessibility audits case study or apply to the agency partner program.

Which standards do you test against?

Most projects test against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Where a contract or law names WCAG 2.1 AA, we report against that version too. For US federal procurement we map results to Section 508, and VPATs can use the WCAG, Section 508, EU (EN 301 549) or international edition of the ITI template. Every test is run by our web accessibility experts.

Are these accessibility case studies from real clients?

Yes. Every case study is a paid client engagement. Some clients are named, such as Happeo, Interstride, Ken Garff, EnhanceAccess, A11Y Pros, Anblik and Bay Area Web Solutions, and others are described by industry or role. Each one shows the scope, method, findings and outcome, and you can see the full report format in our sample accessibility audit report.

Where do the 5.0 ratings come from?

From the clients. Most of these projects ran as contracts on Upwork, and each client left a rating when the contract closed. Every rated contract in these case studies scored 5.0 out of 5, including all six contracts in the EnhanceAccess finance program and Happeo’s 7-day VPAT.

Do you have a case study for my industry?

We have published work for SaaS, EdTech, finance, automotive dealerships and agencies. We use the same method for ecommerce, healthcare, government and law firm websites. Tell us about your site in the free accessibility needs assessment and we will point you to the closest example.

Could an automated tool or overlay have got the same results?

No. Every result in these case studies came from manual testing and code-level fixes. The W3C says evaluation tools “can not determine accessibility, they can only assist in doing so”, and in April 2025 the FTC approved a final order requiring overlay vendor accessiBe to pay $1 million over misleading claims. Read our guide to accessibility overlays and ADA lawsuits.
