Head pointer and head-tracking systems use a camera or a small reflective dot worn on the user’s forehead or glasses to translate head movement into on-screen cursor movement, typically paired with a separate method, like a switch, dwell time, or blink detection, for clicking. They serve people with limited or no use of their hands and arms.
Because head movement is less precise than a mouse, interactive targets need adequate size and spacing to remain reliably selectable, and content should never depend on fine, fast, or highly precise pointer movement to operate correctly.
