Mobile app accessibility uses the same underlying principles as web accessibility, but through platform-specific tools: VoiceOver and Apple’s accessibility APIs on iOS, TalkBack and Android’s accessibility services on Android. Native apps need correctly labeled controls, a logical focus order, adequate touch target size, and support for platform text-scaling and display settings.
WCAG itself was written with the web in mind, but its principles are widely applied to mobile through frameworks like the WCAG2ICT mapping, and both Apple and Google publish their own accessibility guidelines that app developers are expected to follow alongside general WCAG-based practice.
