about us

Accessibility Experts With Real Development Experience

We are certified accessibility consultants who do not just find issues — we know how to fix them, because we build software ourselves. HalfAccessible combines WCAG expertise, manual assistive technology testing, and practical engineering guidance for teams that need accessibility work they can trust.

8+ Years of accessibility and development experience

who we are

Accessibility Consulting Backed By Engineering

HalfAccessible Private Limited is a digital accessibility consultancy helping organizations build accessible websites, web applications, documents, and digital products — and keep them that way after launch.

We started as a development shop. Our founder spent years shipping full-stack web applications before specializing in accessibility, and that background shapes how we work today: every audit we deliver comes with fixes our team could implement ourselves, not just a list of violations for someone else to interpret.

That is the gap we exist to close. Most accessibility reports tell you what is broken by WCAG success criterion number. Ours tell you what is broken, why it fails for a real screen reader or keyboard user, and the specific code or design change that resolves it — because we have built the same components you are maintaining.

Our certified consultants (IAAP CPACC, WAS, CPWA, and DHS Trusted Tester) work against WCAG 2.2, ADA, Section 508, EN 301 549, and India’s RPWD Act requirements, across education, government, healthcare, finance, ecommerce, and SaaS.

We believe accessibility is not a checkbox. It is better engineering, better design, and a bigger addressable market — done right the first time, not retrofitted after a demand letter.

Testing Methodology

How We Test — Manual First, Automated Second

Automated scanners catch roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues — contrast ratios, missing alt attributes, and form labels. They miss the failures that actually stop someone from completing a task: a modal that traps keyboard focus, a custom dropdown a screen reader announces as blank, or an error message that never reaches assistive technology.

Every HalfAccessible audit combines automated scanning, manual keyboard-only testing, screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver, and code-level review by consultants who read the actual markup and component logic.

This is also why our reports come with implementation guidance instead of stopping at non-conformant. We are not just testing your product against a checklist — we are telling you, as engineers, how we would fix it.

  • Automated scanning Catch structural and code-level issues quickly before deeper manual review.
  • Manual keyboard-only testing Verify every interactive element can be reached and operated without a mouse.
  • Screen reader testing Test with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver for meaningful announcements and usable workflows.
  • Code-level review Review markup and component logic, not only the rendered page.
Compliance Frameworks

The Laws and Standards Behind Our Audits

HalfAccessible maps each audit to the laws and standards that actually apply to your organization, procurement process, and users.

If you are not sure which standard applies, that is usually the first thing we clarify on a discovery call — it determines the testing methodology and the level of documentation, such as an audit report, VPAT/ACR, or both.

WCAG 2.2

The international technical standard from W3C that most accessibility laws point to, organized into Levels A, AA, and AAA.

ADA (Title II & III)

US civil rights law; courts and DOJ guidance treat WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA as the practical benchmark for websites and apps.

Section 508

US federal procurement requirement for government agencies and vendors, tested using the Trusted Tester methodology.

EN 301 549

The EU technical standard referenced by the European Accessibility Act, effective for many private-sector products since June 2025.

RPWD Act, 2016

India's Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, the basis for accessibility obligations on Indian government and private digital services.

About HalfAccessible

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about HalfAccessible credentials, testing methods, standards, experience, and global accessibility consulting work.

Is HalfAccessible a certified accessibility company?

Yes. HalfAccessible consultants hold IAAP CPACC, WAS, and CPWA certifications, plus DHS Trusted Tester certification for Section 508 conformance testing — the same methodology used by US federal reviewers.

What is different about HalfAccessible compared to other accessibility firms?

HalfAccessible combines full-stack development backgrounds with accessibility certifications. Audit findings come with implementation-level fixes, not just violation lists, because the team has built the same kinds of components it tests.

Which accessibility laws and standards do you test against?

HalfAccessible tests against WCAG 2.2 Levels A, AA, and AAA, the ADA, Section 508, EN 301 549, and India’s RPWD Act, 2016, depending on the organization and jurisdiction.

Do you test with real screen readers, or just automated scanners?

HalfAccessible uses both, but never relies on automated tools alone. Every audit includes manual keyboard testing and screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver because automated scanners only catch a fraction of real-world barriers.

How many years of accessibility experience does HalfAccessible have?

HalfAccessible brings 8+ years of combined accessibility and development experience, with 100+ projects delivered across education, government, healthcare, finance, ecommerce, and SaaS.

Where is HalfAccessible based, and do you work internationally?

HalfAccessible Private Limited serves clients globally, working to US ADA and Section 508, EU EN 301 549, and Indian RPWD accessibility requirements.
