Compliance By Sector

Which Accessibility Rules Apply To Your Industry?

The technical target is usually the same, WCAG 2.2 Level AA, but the law behind it, the deadline and the proof your buyers ask for change by sector. That is why our accessibility services by industry start by mapping the rules that apply to you before any testing begins, then combine automated scans with manual testing in NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver. Every audit is led by our founder, an IAAP-certified specialist (CPACC, WAS, CPWA) with 10+ years of accessibility work.

The legal risk is growing: plaintiffs filed 3,117 website accessibility lawsuits in US federal court in 2025, 27% more than in 2024, according to Seyfarth Shaw. Public entities and HHS-funded healthcare providers now also have fixed WCAG 2.1 AA deadlines under the ADA Title II rule and Section 504.

Retail & eCommerce: ADA Title III

Online stores are frequent targets of ADA website lawsuits and demand letters. We test search, product pages, cart and checkout with screen readers, including our $2,000 Shopify Accessibility Audit.

eCommerce Accessibility

Healthcare: Section 504

Providers that receive HHS funding must meet WCAG 2.1 AA by May 11, 2027 (15 or more employees) or May 10, 2028 (fewer than 15). We test patient portals, booking and telehealth.

Healthcare Accessibility

Government & Education: ADA Title II

State and local governments, including public schools and universities, must meet WCAG 2.1 AA by April 26, 2027 (50,000+ population) or April 26, 2028 (smaller entities and special districts).

Government Accessibility

SaaS & B2B Software: VPAT and Section 508

Enterprise and public-sector buyers ask for an Accessibility Conformance Report before they sign, and US federal agencies buy against Section 508. We test your product and write the ACR.

SaaS Accessibility

Finance & Banking: EAA and ADA

Consumer banking services sold in the EU fall under the European Accessibility Act, which applies since June 28, 2025. US banks and lenders face ADA Title III claims.

Finance Accessibility

Digital Agencies: White Label

Agencies deliver our manual WCAG 2.2 audits, remediation and VPATs under their own brand, so client sites ship accessible without a bigger in-house team.

White Label Accessibility

Legal & Law Firms: ADA Title III

The ADA names the office of a lawyer as a public accommodation, so firm websites face the same Title III claims as other businesses. We test intake forms, consultation booking, attorney bios and client portals.

Law Firm Accessibility

EdTech & Education: Title II Buyers

Public schools, community colleges and public universities must meet WCAG 2.1 AA under the ADA Title II rule, and content a vendor posts for them is covered too, so buyers ask EdTech vendors for proof. We test your LMS, courses and the ACR they request.

EdTech Accessibility

Automotive & Dealerships: ADA Title III

The ADA lists sales establishments as public accommodations, and car buyers now search inventory, compare finance offers and book test drives online. We test inventory search, vehicle pages, credit applications and chat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which industries do your accessibility services cover?
Do accessibility laws differ by industry?

Yes. Businesses open to the public fall under ADA Title III, where the Department of Justice web accessibility guidance points to WCAG. State and local governments, including public schools, must meet WCAG 2.1 AA under the ADA Title II rule by April 26, 2027 or April 26, 2028, depending on population. Healthcare providers that receive HHS funding have Section 504 deadlines of May 11, 2027 and May 10, 2028. US federal agencies buy against Section 508, and the European Accessibility Act has applied to e-commerce, banking, e-books and other services sold in the EU since June 28, 2025. This is general information, not legal advice.

How much do industry accessibility audits cost?

Prices are the same for every industry: a one-hour technical consultation (audit walkthrough, developer Q&A or live issue review) is $100, a Quick Accessibility Audit is $500, and a complete audit is $2,000, including the Shopify Accessibility Audit. Remediation and development are quoted after we see the findings. See accessibility audit pricing for what each package includes.

Is your testing process different for each industry?

The core method stays the same: automated scans plus manual testing with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and keyboard only, mapped to WCAG 2.2 success criteria. The scope changes by sector: patient portals and appointment booking in healthcare, product pages, cart and checkout in retail, account opening and statements in banking, and forms, payments and PDFs in government. Each industry page shows its own testing process step by step, and our accessibility case studies show the method on real projects.

Can you provide a VPAT or ACR for our software?

Yes. SaaS and B2B vendors often need an Accessibility Conformance Report for procurement. We write it from manual testing, not scanner exports, using the ITI VPAT template. Request a VPAT quote or read about our VPAT and ACR documentation service.

We received an ADA demand letter. Where should we start?

Start with a free needs assessment or a $100 consultation so we can review the claimed barriers quickly, then follow our ADA lawsuit remediation plan. We work alongside your attorney and do not give legal advice.

Do you work with agencies on client projects?

Yes. Agencies can deliver our audits, remediation and VPATs under their own brand. See white label accessibility services or apply to the agency partner program.

Should I book the free 30-minute call or the $100 consultation?

Book the free 30-minute call if this is your first conversation with us: we learn your industry, platform and deadline, explain which rules apply and scope a project or quote. Book the $100 one-hour consultation when your team needs a hands-on technical session, such as walking through an audit or its findings, talking with your developer, or reviewing issues on your site live.
